Tips:
Peel the carrots for a more aesthetically pleasing meal, as the orange color will be cleaner and brighter.
There are so many fantastic smoked sausage selections. Although Polish sausage is great, you can also try smoked chicken sausages. Just ensure you choose a sausage that is devoid of nitrates/nitrites and is more natural.
Pork chops can also be used in this dish. Combine all of the ingredients except the potatoes and chops in a mixing bowl, then layer in the potatoes and chops once the sauerkraut mixture is ready
Cooking times for slow cookers vary. Keep an eye on the pot and leave some wiggle room in your plans. You may always set the crock pot to warm and wait a few minutes for supper to finish.
Because the sauerkraut and sausage are salty, no salt should be added to the slow cooker.
